Man Dons Wig And Dress To Sit Girlfriends English Exam Because She Feared She Would Fail

They may not look anything like each other yet after putting on a headscarf and a face mask, a male student aged 22 successfully impersonated his teenage girlfriend for three days of tough English examinations before finally being caught on the fourth day.

Khadim Mboup, 22, stepped into his girlfriend’s shoes and the rest of her clothing as well after agreeing to sit her English examinations because she feared she was going to fail.

His stunt however which he said was done “out of love” backfired badly.

Mboup attended the Gaston Berger University near the Senegalese city of Saint Louis.

His girlfriend Gangue Dioum, 19, was taking her exams for high school graduation but feared she would fail English.

Together, the couple reportedly hatched a plan for Mboup to sit his girlfriend’s exam in her place which was set to take place over several days.

According to local media, he donned a wig, headscarf, dress, bra, earrings and makeup to appear like his girlfriend to sit the exam.

For three days, it seemed like their plan had worked, however, an exam monitor confronted the young man on the fourth day after noticing something suspicious about his appearance at the time.

The monitor called the local police who arrested the man. Under questioning, he implicated his girlfriend and led officers to where she was staying, according to the news site iHarare.

Mboup told the police that he “acted out of love” because his teenage lover had “serious difficulties” with English.

The couple has been charged with examination fraud and forgery and face being banned from taking part in any national exams for up to five years.

Additionally, they could be fined and jailed for up to five years if convicted.
