Flight Of Two F-16 Fighting Falcons Marks The Beginning Of Relampago VI Exercise

Two F-16 Fighting Falcons take off from the Comando Aereo de Combate Number 5 (CACOM 5) marking the beginning of the Relampago VI exercise. The F-16 Fighting Falcons which come from the 79th Fighter Squadron at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina marked the begging of the Relampago VI exercise taking off from the Comando Aereo de Combate Number 5 (CACOM 5) in Rionegro, Colombia on 12th July. During the exercise, six F-16 Fighting Falcons along with personnel from Shaw Air Force Base will conduct joined, coalition and partnered operations and quickly integrate into theater training. The Relampago VI exercise is a joined Colombian and US exercise that is happening in the U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) theater. The exercise focuses on strategies, tactics, and procedures to reinforce the long-standing relationship between the armed forces of the two countries.
