Brave Cop Drags Unconscious Driver From Burning Vehicle After Crash

This is the moment a brave cop drags an unconscious man free from his burning vehicle in a car park in Washington State after he crashed into a campervan.

The dramatic rescue was filmed in the city of Kennewick in Benton County in the US state of Washington at around 9 am on 7th March.

The officer, named as Corporal Benitez, was driving in the area when he saw the burning vehicle from a distance and went to investigate.

Benton County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement on 9th March: “We’d like to share the body-worn camera footage of Corporal Benitez’s heroic actions as he pulled an unconscious male from a burning vehicle.

“This hair-raising event happened on March 7, 2022, around 9:00 AM in Kennewick.

“Corporal Benitez was driving through the area of Highway 395 and W Clearwater Ave when he saw a vehicle on fire in a nearby parking lot.

“Corporal Benitez discovered there was an unconscious male inside the burning vehicle. Without hesitation, Corporal Benitez ran to the vehicle and pulled the male out and began rendering first aid.”

According to local reports, the driver was found to be OK at the scene, but was later taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The police believe it is possible the driver overdosed behind the wheel and crashed into the campervan in the car park.
