A tattoo artist in Germany who claimed he was drunk and on drugs at the time has escaped with a fine after placing his genitals on a female customer’s bottom during an appointment.

The artist, identified by German media as Alejandro B., 47, was fined EUR 2,500 (GBP 2,111) for sexually harassing the customer at a trial in the city of Cologne on Friday, 19th August.

The 24-year-old woman – whose identity was not disclosed, but reportedly resides in the city of Dusseldorf – scheduled an appointment in B.’s studio in December 2021, according to German media.

She allegedly intended to have an old tattoo embellished, when she felt what she believed were the artist’s keys on her bum.

On the witness stand, she said: “When he tattooed me, I felt something on my butt. At first I thought it was a bunch of keys. A little later I realised that it was his genitals.”

Another witness later confessed in court that the victim stills suffers from the unpleasant experience and has to regularly visit a psychologist to deal with the trauma.

Alejandro B. did not deny his actions, but tried to justify himself by confessing that he had consumed alcohol and drugs before the incident and had barely got any sleep.

He could hardly remember the day of the crime when questioned by the jury, according to local media.

The Cologne District Court convicted him of sexual harassment and gave him a EUR-2,500 (GBP 2,111) fine.
