MAN CRUSHED WIFE’S HEAD UNDER TRUCK: Killed For Not Giving Him A Son
A husband is accused of beating his wife to death and then crushing her head under his pickup truck in a bid to make it look like an accident.
Accused Ali Agha Rezaii had reportedly dragged his wife’s body to his truck and put her head under the rear wheels before driving over it, crushing her skull.
He then reportedly called police to report an accident, claiming she had fallen out of the car and he had driven over her.
But forensic tests revealed Goljamin Najafi, 46, had died on 10th July from a massive blow to the head before she was crushed.
Local media reported that Rezaii and his wife – from Kermanshah province, Iran – rowed frequently because she had not given him a son.
Rezaii, it is said, was angry that he had three daughters and no heir to carry on the family name.
Neighbours told police that Rezaii had insulted and beaten his wife a day earlier after the couple had returned home from farm work.
It was on the morning of the following day that the couple were on their way to Goljamin’s father’s house when another argument broke out.
According to reports, Rezaii struck his wife on the head with a blunt object so hard that he killed her.
Her family reportedly filed an official complaint against Rezaii on 19th July, leading to his arrest.
It is not clear when he will stand trial or what punishment he faces.
According to Stop Femicide Iran, Kermanshah is among the three worst provinces for femicides in Iran.
