COCKY COKE CONVICT: Stunning Influencer Caught With Drugs Bound For Dubai Appeals Light Punishment
Stunning influencer Lais Crisostomo Aguiar, who was caught with cocaine as she was about to board a flight to Dubai, has been convicted of drug trafficking.
But despite being let off with a lenient punishment of community service, she has bizarrely chosen to appeal the decision.
The 1st Federal Court of Guarulhos, Brazil, delivered the guilty verdict on 20th July.
Lais was officially sentenced to two years and 11 months in prison, but judge Rogerio Volpatti Polezze decided to convert the sentence into community service.
The influencer must also pay a fine equivalent to a day’s wages – at minimum wage – every day for 30 days.
Lais – from Montes Claros – was arrested at Sao Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport in August last year.
A pound of cocaine was found inside dietary supplement bottles in the suitcase of the man travelling with her.
The man – Peterson de Souza Fontes – was also arrested and received the same sentence.
The judge converted their sentences to community service in part because they had not committed any crimes in the time elapsed between their arrest and trial.
But despite the lenient punishment, Lais’s lawyer Rafael Serra Oliveira told local media he had appealed the decision.
At the time of reporting, it was not clear if De Souza Fontes had appealed his sentence too.
Lais has 621,000 followers on Instagram, where she flaunts her life of luxury, including trips abroad, swanky hotels, helicopter rides, and high-end cars.
The appeal is ongoing.
