DEAD WOMEN: Two Civilains Killed After Russian Airstrike On Besieged Steelworks

Two women civilians were killed in a Russian airstrike on the Azovstal iron and steelworks in besieged Mariupol, it has been claimed.

The claim was made by the Azov Regiment – a unit of the National Guard of Ukraine – earlier today (Tuesday, 3rd May).

Azov said (in Ukrainian): “Attention! After yesterday’s massive airstrikes on the territory of the Azovstal plant by the Russian occupiers, it became known that two civilian women had died.”

A video obtained by Newsflash from Azov shows a man narrating the purported sequence of events while the camera turns to show the alleged civilian corpses.

In the footage, the man can be heard saying: “At around two or three o’clock, there was a massive explosion. You can see what happened. Dozens of people were hurt. And these two girls, why did they have to suffer?

“Now they are lying in front of you. After this, you know, we were screaming and knocking, and we heard that somebody was coming for us. Afterwards, we found out it was guys from Azov.

“They worry about us, they are trying to evacuate us, to help. Now we will be in the process of getting ourselves out, but, unfortunately, it is what it is for now.

“As you can see, there are two dead people, two girls. Now we will continue trying to get ourselves out. There are mostly women and kids here.”

The cameraman can then be heard asking the man: “You only have two dead girls here, right?”

The man replies: “You know, at the moment, this is all we could carry out, and there’s more, heaps of stones.”

The cameraman says: “Yes, our guys will help you now.”

The man replies: “Yes, please, help us, because we can’t do this on our own, and these two girls were in the kitchen. And as for the Azov guys, they weren’t here before that. The only thing they did was bring us some food, information and water.”

The cameraman asks: “So did they just visit you? To check on you?”

The man responds: “Yes, and they also brought some food, because we have kids here, women, and also food for us.

“There are around 30 kids here, just kids, of different ages.

“We wanted to start collecting people, but they bombed us again. You know I’m not a military man, I’m not an expert, I didn’t know what was falling, but there were explosions, and they were very strong. It’s difficult for me to determine.

“And there were also three to four explosions after that. They bombed our bombs, I guess.”

Russia’s attacks on the industrial complex have resumed following a ceasefire that allowed hundreds of holed-up civilians to be evacuated.
