This is the moment an out-of-control scooter rider slams into the back of a flatbed truck and is seriously injured.

The horror crash was filmed in the district of Civril in the western Turkish province of Denizli this week.

According to local reports, the scooter rider – named only as Gursoy A. – lost control of the bike and piled into the truck without even braking.

The truck had been parked outside a building as workmen unloaded materials from the back.

Gursoy fell to the ground on impact with parts of his shattered bike sent flying through the air.

Paramedics arrived on the scene and Gursoy was taken to a hospital in Denizli City in a serious condition.

In the footage, several workmen are seen standing next to the pickup truck as Gursoy enters the frame at the far end of the road.

Apparently, without slowing down, the helmetless scooter rider speeds along the side of the road straight into the truck.

Gursoy falls to the ground and remains motionless as a workman hops down from the back of the pickup truck to help.

Several colleagues also walk over to check on the scooter rider as the video comes to an end.

It is unclear if the local authorities are investigating the incident.
