A missing woman with dementia has been found dehydrated in the woods under Florida heat by a K-9 police dog.

Deputies were called for a missing and endangered person in Hillsborough County, in the state of Florida, US, on 15th May 2022, shortly after 11:00am.

The video, recorded with a body cam, showed deputy Craig Lariz walking in the woods looking for the missing woman, who was in her late 60s.

His dog Toby then found the woman approximately 250 feet south of her home.

The woman was clearly drained of energy due to the heavy heat but stayed conscious.

She was given water by the officers and taken to the helicopter.

She was also transported to a local hospital due to severe dehydration.

This woman was in her late 60s and suffered from dementia.

She had walked away from her home in the afternoon on 14th May, 2022, and had not been seen since.

Thanks to Toby’s sense of smell, she is now back with her family.
