Moment Resident In Dinghy Saves Struggling Man In Flooded Street In Turkey

This is the moment a man in a boat saves another man struggling to stay afloat on a flooded street.

The incident was filmed in the town of Arhavi in the north-eastern Turkish province of Artvin last week.

According to local media, numerous rescue operations took place during the flash flood in the area, caused by the nearby Kapisre Creek overflowing.

The streets were filled with murky water and one man was filmed struggling to stay afloat while shouting in panic “I’m drowning”.

Local residents threw a large water container down to him from a balcony to use as a float, however, it landed too far away from the man and the water took it away.

People can be heard shouting from above to raise the alarm about the man who is clearly struggling.

A short while later a local resident sailed the streets in a yellow dinghy and managed to reach the stranded man.

When the person in the yellow dinghy arrives, he heads straight for the drowning man, who then grabs onto the dinghy which is then rowed away with the man still clinging on.
