Pool Player Becomes Online Smash For Incredible Trick Shots

A New Jersey pool player has become an online smash for his incredible trick-shot videos that garner millions of views.

Iulian Cernatinschi, 24, known as ‘Trickshot CEO’ online, has over 3 million TikTok followers, 450,000 Instagram fans, and 313,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel.

Iulian, was one of the youngest ever players to take part in the World Artistic Pool Championships when he was 14 years old.

At the time, the young teen had recently moved to the US from Moldova, bordering Ukraine.

Iulian told Newsflash: “I first picked up the cue when I was around 13, completely stopped playing as I went to college, then picked it up again after one of my TikTok videos went viral.”

Many of the influencer’s clips have gone viral on his social media accounts with a million views or more.

He said: “Some shots are quite easy to do, maybe just one or two tries, others can take minutes or hours.”

However, he admits that some trick shots can “take days”.

Iulian said: “I get a lot of inspiration from other trick-shot players, but I think someone that greatly inspires me is Yoshikazu Kimura. He’s one of the most creative and legendary cue artists.”

The influencer, who creates his own trick shots alongside performing established shots, told sceptics that he does not use magnets or anything else to carry out the tricks, adding that it is easier to make the shot work than to stage it.

He said: “Many comment that I use a string, or that there are magnets in the ball, but honestly, it’s probably easier to make the shots than it is to fake them.”

Iulian added that he plays “for a few hours on the weekends” and “very rarely after work” as performing trick shots is “mostly a hobby” to him.

He modestly told Newsflash: “I never expected to get so many followers on TikTok. I just kept uploading trick shots that I enjoyed doing. I’m by far not the best pool trick-shotter out there, lots of talented players are now posting on the newer short-form social media.”
