Quirky Colorado Cop Fastens Hat With Duct Tape On Blustery Day
This is the moment a quirky Colorado state trooper secures his hat with duct tape on a windy day to warn residents to take care on the roads.
Colorado State Patrol posted the video on social media on 15th December with the message: “This is not your average wind. This is push-you-out-of-your-lane-knock-your-vehicle-over kind of wind. Be prepared!”
In the footage, State Trooper Josh Lewis is seen standing in a windy car park while holding down his police hat and informing viewers: “Tis a wee bit breezy today.”
As he starts to fasten his hat with duct tape under his chin, Trooper Lewis says: “If you don’t have to drive, don’t.
“And if you are behind the wheel, understand that these gusts can push you into another lane or even push you over.”
After taping down his hat, the cop warns: “So make sure you’re prepared, and keep everything grounded.”
The quirky cop is no stranger to sending lighthearted video alerts to citizens. In a video from February 2019, State Trooper Lewis is seen portraying Cupid as a Valentine’s Day hero who prevents motorists from committing traffic violations such as drink-driving and texting behind the wheel.
In a clip from March 2017, Trooper Lewis is seen giving citizens a humorous “life hack” lesson on how to turn off their phones when driving on the roads.
Facebook user ‘Missy Johnson’ commented: “Trooper Lewis is one of our best Troopers! He does amazing videos all the time! I wish I could have worked with him!”
Netizen ‘Bobbi Jo Macwilliams’ said: “Love this guy. Everything he says is so true but the way he goes about it really gets a person’s attention because he is also hilarious.”
