Russian Su-34 Fighter Jet Destroys Ukrainian Target Amid Claims Of Air Superiority

This is the moment a Russian Su-34 fighter jet takes to the skies and apparently destroys Ukrainian “military infrastructure” as the invading forces claim to have gained air superiority.

The footage was obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) which said it showed a pilot carrying out a “special military operation” deep within Ukrainian territory amid claims that they have “gained air supremacy”.

The Russian military said they have destroyed the Ukrainian military infrastructure and continue to carry out “airstrikes on air defence positions, military infrastructure facilities, and fortified positions of “nationalist formations”.

The footage shows a Russian Su-34 fighter jet taking off and identifying a Ukrainian target before firing a missile and apparently turning back.

The MoD said in a statement on 6th March: “The crew of the Su-34 aircraft destroyed the military infrastructure of the paramilitary formations of Ukrainian nationalists with high-precision aviation weapons.

“Aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces during the course of a special military operation has gained air supremacy and carries out air strikes on air defence positions, military infrastructure facilities, and fortified positions of nationalist formations.”

Meanwhile, in a separate statement on the same day, the Russian military claimed to have taken control of a Ukrainian military base with tanks, ammo and equipment near the village of Radensk in the southern Kherson region.

The MoD said: “Russian servicemen took control of a military base of the armed forces of Ukraine near the village of Radensk, Kherson region.

“The Ukrainian military left their positions in a hurry, leaving the base with equipment, weapons and ammunition. The base was located on an area of six to seven hectares. Among the trophies found are Ukrainian T-64 and T-80 tanks, armoured personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, and Ural (general purpose) vehicles.

“A few metres from the car park is a large hangar housing an ammunition depot with mines, anti-tank guided missiles, mortar and tank shells, over 4,500 tons of ammunition. Some of the weapons stored on the street are rocket projectiles for multiple rocket launchers.

“Mortar ammunition and high-explosive fragmentation shells were also nearby. Presumably, various units were trained here – marines, sappers, signalmen, tankers and gunners.

“The base could accommodate about 4,000 fighters. At the moment, Russian sappers continue to survey the territory to eliminate the danger of mines.”
