Ukrainian Forces Pick Off Russian Tanks In Kyiv Region Claiming Significant Losses For Opponents
This footage shows Ukrainian defence forces bombing Russian tanks in the Kyiv region.
In the first video filmed in the area of Borodianka in Kyiv Oblast, several Russian tanks and a base are seen being bombed by a Bayraktar drone, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence (MoD) in a statement made this morning (10th March).
The second video shows a column of Russian tanks being bombed by Ukrainian artillery in a village main road according to the Ukrainian MoD’s Defence Intelligence Directorate.
The directorate said: “The commander of the occupier’s Colonel Zakharov regiment has been liquidated.
“During the fighting in the Brovary district of Kyiv Oblast, the battalion tactical group (BTGr) of the 6th Tank Regiment (Chebarkul) of the 90th Panzer Division of the Central Command suffered significant losses in personnel and equipment.”
The invasion began on 24th February when Russian president Vladimir Putin announced a “special military operation” to “demilitarise and denazify” the Ukraine, minutes before missiles rained down on the European country.
Putin’s invasion caused over one million people to flee the Ukraine in the first week alone, sparking Europe’s biggest refugee crisis since World War II.
Meanwhile, a 40-mile-long Russian military convoy is currently closing in on the Ukrainian capital Kiev in an apparent attempt to overthrow the government, however it has remained stalled to the north of the city for several days.
With a cold snap expected in the Ukrainian region this week, there are concerns in Russia that soldiers in the convoy could freeze to death if they run out of fuel to keep the engines running.
Baltic Security Foundation defence expert Glen Grant said: “The boys won’t wait, they will get out, start walking to the forest, and give themselves up to avoid freezing to death.”
