WAR IN UKRAINE: Russian Troops Fire Mortar Rounds At Ukrainian Targets

This is the moment Russian troops fire mortar rounds at Ukrainian targets.

The Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) said on 16th May: “Demilitarization. The combat work of mortar crews of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.”

The MoD said the mortar attack was carried out following reconnaissance work by an intelligence team using drones.

The 120-mm calibre ammunition can be fired at enemy targets over 7,000 metres away.

According to the Russian MoD, the unit destroyed Ukrainian tanks, armoured vehicles, and enemy mortar positions.

Russian troops invaded Ukraine on 24th February in what the Kremlin is still calling a “special military operation”. Today marks the 85th day of the campaign.
