18 Malnourished Dogs And 12 Dead Ones Found In Filthy Farmhouse In Spain

This footage shows the shocking condition of a Spanish farmhouse after 18 malnourished dogs and 12 dead ones were found inside.

The animals were found on a farm in the Spanish tourist town of Lloret de Mar in the north-eastern Spanish region of Catalonia.

The property owner, name not disclosed, has been arrested after 18 dogs were found abandoned at the farm while another 12 were discovered dead and decomposing.

The animals were rescued after officials received a complaint from a resident about apparently abandoned dogs roaming the property last month.

The Civil Guard soon learned that various other complaints had been filed against the farm owner since 2019.

However, as the man never attended any court dates, the local authorities could not get to the bottom of the matter.

Officials entered the farm with a court order and found the dogs on 9th February. The owner was tracked down and arrested on 23rd February.

The animals alive were found in extremely poor condition, severely malnourished, with many injuries. They were also left to their own devices with no food or water.

Local residents occasionally gave the dogs food, although several dogs were found locked in a room where they had no access to the food left by kindhearted neighbours.

The police said the dogs had been living in this condition since 2019.

The 18 malnourished dogs were taken to an animal shelter for treatment and care.

The investigation is ongoing.
