Moment Cat Saved From 34th Floor Ledge After Being Trapped For 3 Weeks

This is the moment a cat is rescued from a small ledge 34 floors from the ground where it has been trapped for around three weeks.

Animal shelter volunteer Ms Ying said she was contacted about the cat by a boy who lived in an opposite building and was aware it had been trapped on the ledge for many days.

The young lad was growing increasingly concerned for the cat’s wellbeing so he turned to Ms Ying for help.

The volunteer met with the boy and his family at around 4pm and was shown where the cat was trapped, on a 34th-floor ledge of a residential building in the city of Taiyuan in the Chinese province of Shanxi.

The boy told Ms Ying that the cat had been trapped for about a month, however a building resident who had been providing the moggy with food and water said it was between two and three weeks.

As seen in the footage, Ms Ying tried to rescue the cat herself, however she was unable to and had to call colleagues for help.

After other volunteers arrived on the scene, they managed to rescue the cat by around 10pm.

Ms Ying said after the rescue: “At the moment, the cat is in a good mental state, but is extremely thin.”

It is unclear how the cat ended up on the ledge in the first place, and whether its owner was trying to look for it.
