This footage shows Ukrainian defenders blasting two Russian tanks to pieces as the invasion enters its 40th day.

Soldiers of Ukraine’s 30th Independent Mechanized Brigade ‘Konstanty Ostrogski’ apparently made light of the Russian soldiers’ demise in the attack, joking that they will join Russian singer Joseph Kobzon, who died in 2018.

The Brigade said: “Lifelong fans of Kobzon played the lead role in the new series ‘Destination’ and ‘flew’ to him for a concert.

“The author team of the lightning script was the 30th Brigade.”

Ukraine’s 30th Independent Mechanized Brigade added: “Enjoy. Until the new series!”

The strikes were filmed from the air and the footage was obtained by Newsflash yesterday (Sunday, 3rd April). It is not clear where in Ukraine the strikes took place.

The 30th Independent Mechanized Brigade is named after Konstanty Ostrogski (c. 1460-1530), a Ruthenian prince and magnate of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and later a Grand Hetman of Lithuania.

Today marks the 40th day since Russia invaded the neighbouring nation.

From 24th February to 4th April, the total combat losses of Russian troops stand at about 18,300 personnel.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said Russia has also lost “647 tanks, 1,844 armored fighting vehicles, 330 artillery systems, 107 multiple launch rocket systems, 54 anti-aircraft warfare systems, 147 aircrafts, 134 helicopters, 1,273 motor vehicles, seven boats/cutters, 76 fuel tanks, 92 unmanned aerial vehicles, 25 special equipment units and four mobile SRBM systems”.

Russian crooner Joseph Kobzon, born in 1937 in Chasiv Yar, in what is now Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine, was known for his numerous performances in military hotspots, such as Afghanistan during the Soviet-Afghan War, and Chechnya during the Chechen War.
