A beautiful mother-of-one died in agony after an apparently botched bum lift, leaving her three-year-old daughter an orphan.

Stunning Michelle Suarez Arcila, 22, had undergone a buttock augmentation and liposculpture procedure in Cali, Colombia.

Unlike liposuction, which covers larger areas, liposculpture treats little pockets of fat and then redistributes them under the skin to achieve a desired shape.

The operation apparently went without a hitch and the young mum was discharged from the clinic the next day.

But once back at home, Michelle began to experience agonising discomfort.

Her symptoms worsened and, says her family, she fainted seven times.

Her mother – not named in reports – told Colombian media: “She got worse around 12 at night and I started calling the anaesthesiologists and no one answered me, until one answered me at 3 in the morning.

“One of her buttocks swelled up, she felt a lot of pain, and she fainted like seven times. The last time, she remained like that.”

Michelle’s mum said she had no confidence in the surgeon because he did not even see Michelle in person, let alone give her any medical tests, before the procedure.

She told local media: “I did not agree with him operating on her because I saw him as very inexperienced.

“He spoke to her on the phone, he did not see her in person, and he sent her some tests and did not send her an electrocardiogram test. She had three heart attacks.”

Authorities in Cali have since temporarily closed the clinic – not named in reports – while investigations are carried out.

The victim’s mum said the surgeon – also unnamed – had previously had a clinic closed due to alleged “inconsistencies”.
