This is the moment a drunk dog repeatedly falls over and is carried to a car to visit the vets after nibbling its way through a wine barrel and apparently getting plastered.

The incident took place in the city of Changchun in the north-eastern Chinese province of Jilin, bordering with North Korea, on 10th June.

According to the news site Baidu, the dog nibbled its way through a 2.5-litre barrel of white wine and managed to drink some of the contents.

When the owners arrived home, they found the dog unable to move even its eyes as it was apparently so steaming drunk.

When they realised what had happened, the owners took the dog to a veterinary clinic for treatment and it has since made a full recovery, although the poor pooch reportedly had a troublesome headache for a while.

In the footage, two men are seen carrying the drunk dog down the stairs on a makeshift stretcher.

The next scene shows the animal repeatedly falling over outside the car.

In the second video, a woman is seen carrying the dog, which has filthy paws and a drunk expression on its face, outside to a car.

The footage ends with the woman trying to pick up the dog, which apparently cannot move, to place in the parked car.
