Bear Grylls Congratulates Gold Medallist Who Won World Paragliding Championship

Bear Grylls has congratulated the woman gold medallist who recently won the world paragliding championship.

Yael Margelisch, 30, from the canton of Valais in Switzerland, has won the Paragliding World Cup in Argentina after taking the lead in the fifth round, with the end result netting her a gold medal.

She received congratulations from numerous fans, including from famous British adventurer Bear Grylls, who commented on her Instagram post and said: “Proud of you! Amazing”.

After her victory in Argentina’s Tucuman province, Margelisch was quoted in Swiss newspaper 20 Minutes as saying: “Ever since I started competing, it has been my dream to win the world championship. This win is really great.”

She also took to Instagram to celebrate her victory, posting a photograph showing her all smiles which he captioned: “World champion! It will take time to realise that.

“Since I started paragliding competition I had this dream of becoming world champion. Now it’s real and it’s hard to put the words on it. It’s the best way to end this incredible year!

“Great team spirit in the Swiss team.”

She also thanked the sponsors, as well as her friends and family and added: “And thanks for the cheering from all over the world.”

The World Cup took place from 31st October to 13th November, and Margelisch came in first ahead of French woman Seiko Fukuoka Naville and Polish woman Klaudia Bukgakow.
