Blue Tongued Lizard Waggles Legs In Air Trying To Climb Over Owners Legs

This is the viral moment a blue-tongued lizard gets stuck and waggles its little legs in the air while trying to climb over its owner’s legs.

Reagan Williams, 18, who comes from Far North Queensland in Australia, shared the clip on TikTok for her modest 5,000 followers, where it blew up with 7.4 million views in just three days.

In the video, Reagan’s blue-tongued skink called Toothless is seen waggling its stumpy little legs in the air while trying to navigate over her legs.

Reagan told Newsflash: “My blue-tongued skink’s name is Toothless, I have had him for around seven months and he is just under a year old.”

She said: “He doesn’t often get stuck on my leg, but sometimes he misjudges the height of objects and can get stuck.”

Reagan, who works as a keeper at Wildlife Habitat in Port Douglas, added: “As someone who has both owned a number of different animals and works with a variety of species, I have found that a blue-tongued skink is the easiest pet I have taken care of.

“Although they have certain enclosure and husbandry requirements, I haven’t found them to be especially needy in comparison to a dog.

“This species does require veterinary checkups when in captivity, just like any other pet, and this is to ensure that they haven’t developed any illness, injury, or disease.”

Reagan, who said she is completing her Certificate III in Captive Animals through a traineeship, added: “I love being able to educate both myself and others on the animals in the zoo.”
