Car Bounces On Two Wheels And Hits Street Pole After Driving Over Unsecured Manhole
This is the moment a motorist drives over an unsecured manhole and bounces along the road on two wheels before hitting a street pole and coming to an abrupt stop.
The incident was filmed in the city of Chengdu in the Chinese province of Sichuan on Saturday, 18th December.
The driver, named in local reports as Mr Chen, said he was driving along the road when the manhole cover flipped and his front wheel dropped inside, causing the SUV to nearly flip over.
The vehicle ended up bouncing along the road on two wheels before hitting a street pole, bringing it to a halt.
Mr Chen was uninjured in the incident and the traffic police arrived on the scene to open an investigation.
After watching the CCTV footage, Mr Chen said he was “shocked” when he saw the incident back, adding that he was lucky to have escaped the scene uninjured.
In the video, the white SUV is seen driving along the road before the back suddenly lifts in the air and the vehicle nearly flips over.
The driver turns sharply and the vehicle bounces on two wheels before hitting the kerb and righting itself, possibly stopping it from overturning.
The SUV then clips the street pole and comes to a stop close to the filming driver’s stationary car.
The cameraperson reverses a few metres away from the SUV and the driver is seen getting out of the vehicle as the video comes to an end.
