A dad in Florida has been charged with murdering his months-old baby girl by shaking her to death because she was crying too much.

Hector Solis, 29, who faces a first-degree murder charge, told the police that he “just got frustrated” in the incident that took place in Palm Bay, which is a city located in Brevard County, in the south-eastern US state of Florida.

Solis was arrested on Saturday 18th December and he has been charged with first-degree premeditated murder and aggravated child abuse as assault, according to local media.

Solis reportedly took his daughter to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office in City Hall in Palm Bay saying that his baby was not breathing.

Medics tried to resuscitate her and she was taken to the Melbourne Regional Medical Center where doctors tried to revive her as well, but she did not survive and was pronounced dead on Sunday morning.

According to an affidavit quoted in local media, Solis allegedly told the authorities that he inflicted the fatal injuries that killed his young daughter.

He added: “I just got frustrated and started shaking her.”

Solis said that he then took his baby to the police offices at City Hall. He was detained by police officers and is currently being held in the Brevard County Jail.
