Celebrations As Ukrainian Missile Blows Up Russian Fighter Jet In Clear Sky

This is the moment an onlooker cheers as a Ukrainian missile apparently blows up a Russian fighter jet in the clear blue sky.

The images were filmed near the city of Kharkiv in the north-eastern Ukrainian region of Kharkiv Oblast, and the footage was shared on social media by the Land forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on 15th March.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces (ZSU) said: “Near Kharkiv, ZSU shot down another enemy plane!”

On 15th March, the Russian invaders were thwarted in their attempts to take Kharkiv from the northern neighbourhood of Piatykhatky, according to regional administrative chief Oleg Sinegubov.

The Russians were also defeated in Ruskie Tyszki in a battle that raged for over an hour yesterday morning, causing the invaders to retreat to their previous positions.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded Captain Serhiy Chyzhikov with the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky for shooting down an enemy plane over the northern city of Chernihiv.

On 24th February, Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine in what the Kremlin is still calling a “special military operation” to “demilitarise and denazify” the sovereign European country.

Putin’s invasion has caused millions of people to flee the country, sparking Europe’s biggest refugee crisis since World War II.

Meanwhile, a 40-mile-long Russian military convoy is currently closing in on the Ukrainian capital Kiev, however it has remained stalled to the north of the city for over a week.
