Dramatic Footage Of Girl, 6, Rescued Alive After Falling Down 50 Foot Well Full Of Water

This is the incredible moment a six-year-old girl is pulled to safety by rescuers after she survived a fall into a 50 foot deep well and managed to stay alive in the freezing water.

The incident took place in Dibba Al-Fujairah, which is a city located in the Emirate of Fujairah, one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The UAE’s Ministry of the Interior shared footage online on Monday, 21st February, showing civil defence personnel rescuing the young girl from the well, which is reportedly 15 metres (49 feet) deep.

The footage shows that the well was full of water when the young girl, who has not been named, fell into it, and the ministry said that rescuers were quick to respond so that tragedy was averted.

Other images show the girl recovering in hospital.

Ministry of the Interior staff also visited the young girl. Emirati Interior Minister Lt.-General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan praised the civil defence team for having rescued the young girl.

The successful rescue comes just days after an Afghan boy was rescued three days after becoming trapped in a well. However, he reportedly died as he was being taken to a medical transport helicopter.

And just a few weeks ago, the story of Moroccan boy Rayan caught the world’s attention, with the rescuers’ gargantuan efforts thwarted at the 11th hour after he tragically died with rescuers just metres from reaching him.
