Figure Skater Glides Across Kazakh Lake In Stunning Outfit With Flowing Train
This is the moment a Russian figure skater glides elegantly across the frozen surface of a Kazakh lake with a fetching royal blue train trailing far behind.
The video was filmed on Lake Jasybay in the Bayanaul National Park in the northern Kazakh province of Pavlodar and the footage was later shared on Instagram.
In the footage, Ksenia Pankratova, a former professional figure skater now turned coach, is seen gliding elegantly along the frozen surface of Lake Jasybay in a fetching blue outfit complete with a huge trailing train.
Ksenia said: “A stunning place near Pavlodar. I will definitely come back here in the summer. An unforgettable trip. Beautiful nature, incredibly friendly people, and a sea of positive emotions!”
She added that the video was not as easy to film as it may appear and that the train of her outfit became wet through and increased in weight by 10 kilogrammes (22 lbs).
Additionally, the strong winds turned the train into a “parachute” that pulled her back while trying to perform her routine.
Ksenia previously caused a social media stir when she was filmed skating on Big Almaty Lake in Kazakhstan as the natural alpine reservoir is used for drinking water and activities such as swimming are banned.
However, she later apologised in the wake of the social media storm that followed.
