This is the moment a goose drops to the ground and ‘plays dead’ while being chased by a curious pooch.

The funny scene was filmed in the Chinese coastal metropolis of Tianjin by dog owner Mr Liu earlier this month.

In the video, the goose is seen dropping to the ground to play dead as the little pooch scampers over to it on a courtyard.

Onlookers giggle as the dog sniffs the motionless goose and even tries to encourage it to move when it starts barking at the bird.

When the coast is clear, the goose lifts its head, looks around, and runs off. However, it attracts the dog’s attention again and has to drop to the ground and remain still once again.

The dog then has another good sniff of the motionless bird before losing interest and walking off.

The scared goose stands up and runs to the far end of the property with all its might as onlookers laugh in the background.

Netizens had a lot to say about Mr Liu’s clip, with ‘Seven meals commenting: “Don’t stew this goose in a pot, it’s so smart.”

‘Lucy Liu’ commented: “Being able to duck and stretch out like that, it has mastered important life-saving skills.”
