This is the moment a cop shoots at a fleeing suspect after he points a gun at him in an alley in Washington DC.

However, problems began when the officer stopped talking to the driver and turned his attention to the passenger.

In the footage, the passenger apparently moves his hand towards the vehicle’s gearstick and the cop asks “what is he doing?”

The car rolls away and the officer says to the driver “don’t do it, I got your ID. You’re gonna lose your job”.

The driver gets out of the car and the passenger jumps into his seat to try to speed off. However, the man eventually flees the vehicle and runs down the road with cops in hot pursuit.

The chasing cop is heard saying “man with a gun” and “he’s tossing the gun” before encountering the suspect at the far end of an alley.

The man appears to fall over and point his firearm at the cop, and two gunshots ring out.

The police said the officer did not hit the fleeing passenger, who is seen getting to his feet and running off with another officer giving chase.

The police said they recovered the suspect’s gun at the scene and later arrested him on charges of carrying a pistol without a license, assault on a police officer while armed, possession of an unregistered firearm, and possession of unregistered ammunition, and felon in possession.

The suspect has been named as 27-year-old Aubrey McLeod of Southeast Washington.
