This happy video of the young mother of a nine-year-old girl partying with friends resulted in her death after it was apparently seen by her ex-boyfriend who then used it to track her down and kill her, according to local media.

Melani Fernanda Trejo Garcia was found dead in the city of Huitzilac, in the south-central Mexican state of Morelos, which borders the capital, Mexico City in the early hours of 6th August, according to local media.

Hardworking Melani, aged 27, who was the loving mother of a girl aged nine, posted the video on TikTok shortly before her death, with local media speculating that her attacker might have tracked her down after working out where she was. It shows her letting her hair down, dancing and having fun with friends.

A few hours later, her partially naked body, with her top removed, was found dead from gunshot wounds along with the body of a man identified as Cristopher Mondragon, 27. It is unclear what the relationship, if any, was between the two murdered people.

An unnamed relative of the dead woman who complained about the man not being arrested told local newspaper Infobae: “Now they don’t want to give us a copy of the investigation findings so far either, we don’t know what to do, the man accused was clearly identified, everyone knows who he is, but the authorities have not acted, he was even seen the next day acting as if nothing had happened and eating tamales, we want to know if the authorities are going to act or not, we do not want this to be one more femicide and for him to kill again.”

Melani reportedly went out partying with two of her best friends on the evening of Friday, 5th August. The trio sang and danced until late that night, with Melani then posting the clip to her TikTok account.

Her ex-boyfriend, who has been named only as Ernesto “Neto”, approximately 30 years old, showed up at the venue a short while after it was posted, along with other acquaintances, according to local media.

Melani’s relative also said: “A year ago, we began to know that she was dating this person, she was very excited, she spoke very well of him that he loved her very much and treated her well, she even told us that she wanted to go to live with him.”

They added: “But much later we found out that he mistreated her, he hit her several times and because he had been carrying a gun, he pointed it at her. When she ended the relationship, he threatened her with death […].”

Melani, who has been described as a hard-working mum, then ended the relationship. The relative said that on the evening of her death, Melani had been at the bar with her friends, indicating that the place is well known and that lots of locals go there at the weekend.

Neighbours reportedly heard shots at dawn on Saturday, 6th August. The body of the man was found first and the neighbours called the police.

Minutes later, Melani’s semi-naked body was then reportedly dumped from a pickup truck at the location. She had a gunshot injury to her face and to the side of her stomach, still according to local reports.

The ex-boyfriend, Ernesto, had reportedly not been arrested at the time of writing. It is alleged that the truck from which Melani’s body was dumped was Ernesto’s vehicle.
