A daredevil mouse has displayed trap-dodging skills that could impress even Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise.

The acrobatic rodent was caught on camera in the city of Lishui, which is located in eastern China’s coastal province of Zhejiang, after a homeowner set up traps to keep mice out.

The sticky pads were supposed to be an impregnable barrier.

But as the homeowner – named only as Mr Ye in local media – discovered, the supermouse was able to run rings around it.

In a video of the encounter – filmed on 3rd August – the mouse approaches the traps and comes to a halt.

It scurries up and down to inspect the traps and then with a sensational leap, it jumps right over them and carries on.

The footage quickly made the rounds on social media and on Douyin – which is what TikTok is called in China – where fans delighted in the mouse’s tricks.
