This bear was filmed by locals as it was trying to break down a wooden fence and enter a residence at a ski resort before it was chased away by witnesses who revved their car engines to scare it away.

The video was recently filmed in the Azuga resort in the town of Azuga, nestled in the mountains of Prahova County, Romania.

The footage shows the bear standing up on its two feet and breaking off a few pieces of the wooden fence, trying to make its way into the residence.

Moments later it was chased away by locals who made loud noises by firing up a car engine to scare the animal.

According to social media posts, this was actually one of two bears that descended down to the resort.

Local media reports that more and more bear-related incidents are taking place in Romania.

Recently, a man was chased by a bear for several minutes before it escaped into the forest, and a few weeks ago, a baby bear was filmed by people in a heavily populated tourist area.

Cristian Remus Papp, a volunteer at the ‘Borders for bears’ organisation, said that bears have become a danger in tourist areas because most of the time the animal could associate the smell of people with food.

Papp said: “People give them easy access to food sources that they do not find in the forest.”
