The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office said evacuation warnings have been issued to the following areas: State Route 97, north of Weed, Angel Valley Road, Carrick Addition and Solus Drive.

When the lightning strike caused the fire on Friday morning, it was only around three acres in size by Saturday morning, according to the Forest Service.
