Moment Small Plane Crashes On Road After Taking Off And Hitting Traffic Light

This is the moment a small single-engine plane crashes into a traffic light on a main road in Texas just after leaving a parade where it was displayed on a float.

The pilot, name not reported, was flying the small plane back to a local airport after it participated in the Rice Festival Parade in Winnie in Chambers County in the US state of Texas on 2nd October.

The footage of the crash was posted on Facebook by the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office who stated that the incident took place at 10.45am on Highway 124.

After the parade, the pilot opted to fly it back to the airport instead of having it towed.

In the footage, the plane is seen taking off as the propeller apparently fails and stops rotating.

The small aircraft loses altitude and hits a traffic light. A large part of the wing is smashed off by the metal pole, which brings the aircraft crashing onto the tarmac.

The news site Ksat said the pilot survived the incident without any serious injuries, but was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

The type of aircraft was not specified by local media.

It is currently unclear if an investigation is being launched into the crash.
