New York Cop Rescues Cat From Car Engine After Hitching Ride From Another Town
This is the moment a New York cop rescues a cute cat from under the engine of a parked car after the feline apparently hitched a ride from another town.
The cat was rescued in the town of West Seneca in Erie County in the US state of New York after hitching a ride from the nearby town of Cheektowaga on the morning of 7th March.
In a series of tweets on the same day, West Seneca Police (WSP) said: “We’re just going to go ahead and call it Animal Week at WSPD. Officer Daley has once again been called into action for a cat stuck in an engine bay.”
“Where’s a firefighter when you need them?”
In another tweet, the police joked: “The cat inexplicably hitched a ride from Cheektowaga in the engine bay. With current gas prices we can’t say we blame him.”
“Now to get him out. The obvious first tactic is to lure him out with the time tested pspspspspsps.”
A short time later, the police posted as an update: “More pspsps-ing. He’s seemingly unphased.”
“Officer Daley has retrieved his animal handling gloves to protect from getting bit. Fun fact cats can only move their jaws up and down and not side to side.”
“He’s extremely uninterested in leaving his new home.”
“This would be a lot easier if he picked a lifted f250 and not an Accord.”
In the last tweet after rescuing the cat, the police joked: “Success. He still has 8 lives left. Going to tell our kids this was ‘Homeward Bound 3’.”
