Penguins Take Trip In Snow To Visit Grizzly Bear Neighbours

This is the moment a group of penguins enjoy a walk in the snow to visit the giant grizzly and polar bears at a US zoo.

The penguins waddled though the snow-covered zoo and were allowed to get up close with the bears near their enclosure.

The two king penguins, named Ethel and Elliot, along with their five gentoo penguin friends called CJ, Oshie, Sunny, Double, and Trouble, made the most of their field trip to check on polar bear Kali and grizzly bears Huck and Finley.

Both king and gentoo penguin species originate from the Antarctic region.

Christy Childs from Saint Louis Zoo in the US state of Missouri told Newsflash that the penguins were part of a much larger group they care for.

She said: “They walked in the snow for about 15 minutes.”

According to the zoo, these walks are very beneficial for the animals and they take place from time to time without being planned in advance.

On the zoo’s website (www.stlzoo.org/blog) visitors can learn more about the penguins, bears, and all the other animals.
