Russian Drink Driver Speeds From Traffic Stop With Cop Clinging Onto Bonnet
This is the moment a Russian drink driver speeds away from a traffic stop with a cop clinging onto his bonnet.
The incident was filmed in a supermarket car park in the city of Vorkuta in the Russian republic of Komi last week.
According to reports, officers conducting a traffic stop asked to see the motorist’s licence, however, the man refused to cooperate and pressed on the accelerator to try to get away.
In the footage, the suspect is seen reversing as several officers approach his silver car.
While accelerating away, one cop opens the driver’s door and another jumps on the car bonnet.
Undeterred, the alleged drink driver speeds from the scene with the officer clinging on.
When it seems like the cop might slip off the bonnet, the driver suddenly stops, apparently of his own volition, and the officer jumps to the ground.
Several cops then open the front doors and restrain the driver.
The suspect’s name was not reported, but the cameraperson says in the video “Ramin, this is Ramin”.
According to the news site Life, the detained suspect was drink-driving at the time of the incident, and has also been caught committing offences 48 times over the past year.
