A father who donned a skirt to show his daughters how to squat down modestly has released the ultimate mansplaining video on social media.

The dad – not named in local media in China – is shown stripped to the waist wearing a long pleated skirt with his giggling daughters beside him.

As he wraps the pleats of the skirt around his legs and tucks in the excess fabric, he squats to the side, gracefully picking up a headband from the floor.

Then he shows them how their mother might do it, splaying his legs and crouching down.

He says (in Chinese): “Look! When you wear a skirt in summer (squat down), you must do it like Dad, fold it with your right hand and your left hand, and pick it up along the buttocks.”

Then he adds: “Don’t be like your mother, don’t learn from your mother!”

A second video shows the dad taking on the sometimes tricky modesty of mini skirts.

The videos – posted on social media on 30th May by Ms. Shi from Linyi, Shandong Province – have won widespread praise from viewers.

But one netizen – @OldmanZhangwatchingthedoor – laughed: ”First tell your child that you can’t be shirtless in a skirt.”

In a follow-up statement, the father added: “I wanted to cultivate their awareness of preventing exposure, master the correct squatting posture, and prevent problems before they happen.”
