Ukrainian Forces Share Images Of Smouldering Russian Tank Formation In Sumy Oblast

These are the images of a destroyed Russian tank formation that the Ukrainian Armed Forces shows how they successfully defended an area of Sumy Oblast.

The photos were taken in the northern Ukrainian region of Sumy Oblast and show a smouldering column of what are destroyed Russian tanks, according to the defending forces.

At around 10am, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on social media: “Yesterday it was reported about the unworthy behaviour of the Russian occupiers in Sumy oblast. They thought they were “towering warriors”, in the sense of being fearless.

The 93rd Independent Kholodnyi Yar Mechanized Brigade, a formation of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, also posted images of the destroyed Russian military column on social media this morning.

The brigade shared the photos with the message: “Yesterday they reported the bad conduct of the occupiers in Moskovs’kyi Bobryk in the Sumy region. In the photo is a column that tried to pass along a bridge that the occupiers forced local residents to rebuild.”

In other Ukrainian regions, a huge fire erupted at an oil depot in the northern city of Chernihiv after being bombed by Russian invaders at around 8.10am.

Regarding the defence of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, Khariton Starsky, spokesperson for the National Guard’s Rapid Reaction Brigade, said: “According to preliminary information, our air defence shot down two Russian missiles over Kyiv during the night. Most likely, they tried to hit the area of the Ministry of Defence.”

As of 9am, fighting was reported in the areas of Borodyanka, Kozarovychi and Ivankiv.

Starsky said Russian soldiers tried to capture Ivankiv, but were beaten back and images of burned enemy equipment were shared on social media, adding: “Ukrainian troops are pushing the enemy back towards Russia. It is no longer possible to say that it (Ivankiv) is occupied.”
