WHAT THE HOL ARE YOU DOING HERE? Banned Russian MP’s Instagram Break In Europe
A banned Russian oligarch’s VIP travels across Europe have provoked fury with supporters of Ukraine.
Politician Vladimir Plotnikov – a pal of Russian president Vladimir Putin – has had his spree documented by his influencer daughter on Instagram.
Glamorous Sonia Plotnikova has been documenting every step of her swanky summer holiday with her dad for her 127,000 followers.
Plotnikov is a deputy of the State Duma and a member of the governing United Russia party.
He is on a list of those sanctioned by the European Union over the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
He and his daughter have so far been spotted in Slovenia, Italy and Austria.
Plotnikova has posted snaps of herself dining on black truffle pasta in Venice and posing in a horse-drawn carriage in Vienna.
The images have provoked outrage, as Plotnikov is banned from entering the EU.
It is believed the pair may have gained entry to the bloc due to carelessness or corruption on the part of border police.
Volker Boehme-Nessler – professor of European Law at the University of Oldenburg – suggested to German media that the MP may have entered on a fake passport.
Netizens have been leaving comments excoriating his daughter and voicing support for Ukraine on her photos.
‘Tim Derksen’ wrote: “You are enjoying the freedoms Europe and other countries have. Freedoms that people in Ukraine don’t have anymore.
“Please help stop the support for war in Ukraine by using your influence and speak out to the war in Ukraine.
“You can’t ignore it, you go to countries where it is on the news, you see what is happening in Ukraine by the Russian occupation force.
“Make your father speak out against the war on official levels. Use your followers to spread the word against the Russian Invasion of Ukraine.
“The blood of innocent people is on the hands of all Russians who support the totalitarian regime of Putin.”
While ‘Grzegorz’ simply commented: “F*ck Russia.”
But Plotnikova has been goading her detractors, writing “Proud to be Russian” and “I am waiting for your comments! If you hate me, write ugly comments on that picture.”
Of her dad, Boehme-Nessler said the police “should arrest him immediately, escort him to the border and deport him”.
