Wisconsin Cops Arrest Man, 51, For Sexually Assaulting Kids By Claiming He Needed To Keep His Medical Licence Updated
Wisconsin cops have arrested a 51-year-old man for sexually assaulting a child with investigators believing there are more victims going back many years.
James Wicht was arrested in the city of Pewaukee in Waukesha County in the US state of Wisconsin on 26th October.
The police said the suspect was detained on four counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child, two counts of child abuse, intentionally causing harm, and child sexual exploitation, including making videos and records.
According to the police in the city of Racine, Wicht gained access to the young victims by pretending to carry out physical examinations on them, adding that he did so “to keep his insurance and other certifications up to date”.
In one case, he claimed he needed to carry out a physical examination for his paramedic license.
The police said they suspect Wicht sexually assaulted numerous children, going back many years.
Racine Police Department spokesperson Chad Melby said: “His front that he put up to commit these crimes oftentimes seemed legitimate. So that’s how he gained access. So even if you feel like it was legitimate, please call us so we can speak to you further.”
The Police Department said in a statement: “On October 26th, 2021 the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department assisted the Racine Police Department with the execution of a search warrant in Pewaukee, WI.
“The investigation resulted in the arrest of James Wicht for multiple charges involving sexual assault of a child. Wicht allegedly used the guise of illegitimate physical exams to gain access to the victims.
“Investigators believe Wicht assaulted multiple children dating back many years. The Racine Police Department and Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department are looking to identify and speak to possible victims.”
