Alleged Rapist Sent Flying When Window Failed To Smash In Attempt To Make Dramatic Escape From Cops
This is the embarrassing moment a suspected rapist tries and fails to escape from the cops by smashing through a window that fails to break and instead sends him flying backwards.
The suspect then apologises for the terrible escape attempt and pleads with the cops not to use their tasers.
George Onjre Damon, 20, was being investigated by the cops for kidnapping, assault and rape allegations.
The two officers were sent to the suspect’s sixth-floor room at the Sunday hotel in the city of Blue Ash in the US state of Ohio.
The Blue Ash Police Department said in a statement yesterday that they received a call from an employee at the hotel who was concerned about the well-being of a woman staying with Damon.
The employee became suspicious of Damon after the woman, who is believed to be his victim, looked sick and uncomfortable while walking back to the room and used a hand signal to gesture that she needed help.
The cops turned up and began to question the suspect who appeared very sketchy and kept trying to put his hands in his pocket.
The officer’s body cam captures the moment he tries to grab Damon’s arm a which point he tenses up in preparation for his escape attempt.
Damon pulls his arm from the cop and sprints across the hotel room directly towards the window.
Despite knowing that he was on the sixth floor and a fall from such a height would likely result in him incurring severe injuries or even death he throws himself towards the window.
However, the window does not shatter and instead of flying towards freedom, Damon is thrown back with a thud by the surprisingly sturdy glass.
The cops immediately pull their tasers to which Damon reacts by quietly apologising before pleading with them not to fire the painful non-lethal weapons.
Accepting defeat Damon puts his hands behind his back and is escorted out of the hotel in cuffs.
After a visit to the hospital to make sure he had not suffered any injuries during the poorly executed escape attempt he was taken to the police station.
According to the Blue Ash Police Department the suspect has been charged with rape, kidnapping and assault.
Scott Noel, Blue Ash Police Chief, said: “We want to assure the public that this was not a random kidnapping. The victim and suspect were known to each other.”
The investigation is ongoing.
