BRUTAL WIFE KILLER: ‘Drug Abusing’ Husband Beat Teacher Wife To Death
A husband accused of brutally beating his wife to death is on the run after her horrifically injured body was discovered at the family home.
Victim Jhoana Abigail Ligues, 24, had been repeatedly punched in the face until she died, said local media in Santa Catarina, Nuevo Leon state, Mexico.
Her husband – named only as Antonio in local media – is said to have just finished a drugs rehab programme.
Her body was found by her parents, who had come to see her after they were not able to reach her by phone.
Police believe she died on 31st August and are hunting her husband, who has disappeared, reported local media.
Jhoana was found lying face-up on her bed with injuries all over her body, but mainly on her face.
Paramedics called to the scene could only confirm her death.
Jhoana – who had just graduated as a teacher – had been married for just months.
In April she had posted a tender wedding snap on social media with the caption: “I come from the future, to tell you that we are together and that what we have has been worth every effort.”
And on International Women’s Day last year, she had shared a photo with the caption: “We want each other free and without fear.”
An acquaintance reportedly told police that Antonio is a drug user and had only left rehab a week before her killing.
