This is the terrifying moment a driver and their car are engulfed in a massive freak landslide.

The audio on the CCTV footage of the drama records a massive crack and roaring sound as part of a cliff gives way after heavy rains.

As a white car drives down the road, it is suddenly hit by the debris and disappears in a huge cloud of rock and dust.

Locals then emerge from nearby buildings to see the devastation on the street, near the Shuhe Bridge in Xunyang City, in northern China’s Shaanxi Province, on the afternoon of Friday, 22nd July.

But astonishingly, police told local media that the driver survived with slight injuries and their car was only partially damaged.

Local media reported that the massive landslide contained 500 cubic metres of rubble.

Officials said that the road was being repaired.
