Cat Refuses To Give Up Large Prickly Fruit After Using It As Pillow
This is the moment a cat uses a large prickly fruit as a pillow and refuses to give it up to its peckish owner.
The cat’s unusual pillow was a durian, the edible fruit of several tree species belonging to the genus Durio.
Dubbed the ‘king of fruits’ in some Asian regions, durians are known for their large size, strong odour, and thorny rind.
They can grow as large as 30 centimetres in length with a diameter of around 15 centimetres, typically weighing between one and three kilogrammes.
There are 30 recognised Durio species with nine producing edible fruit, and the flesh is either bright yellow or red.
A cat owner in the city of Guangzhou in the Chinese province of Guangdong recently bought a durian at the supermarket and threw it on the sofa when she arrived home.
However, she was unable to feast on the large fruit due to her cat deciding to adopt it as a pillow.
She said the moggy loved the thorn-covered fruit so much she let her pet keep it.
In the video, the cute cat is seen cuddling up to the large thorny durian and apparently enjoying its prickly feel against the side of its face.
At one point, the owner tries to take away the fruit, but her cat startles and apparently grows defensive.
The clip ends with the tired feline snuggling up to the durian for a quick cat nap on the sofa.
