This is the moment a woman falls into a gaping hole after a bridge collapses, with two truckers and a biker narrowly avoiding also being swallowed up.

The bridge that collapsed is located in the Brazilian city of Brusque what had been experiencing heavy rains when the incident happened on the morning of 9th June.

CCTV footage shows how a female pedestrian was crossing the bridge at the moment of the collapse and fell into the void.

More noticeably, the footage shows how a lorry passes over the bridge the moment it collapses, managing to make it to the safety of the other side by a whisker.

Another lorry driver travelling behind the vehicle also had a lucky escape, managing to brake just in time to avoid plunging into the void.

The recording also shows how a biker travelling on the road notices the collapsed bridge at the last minute and slams on the brakes, falling to the road along with his motorbike in dramatic fashion at the edge of the void.

The pedestrian who fell into the hole was rescued by a passerby and was able to walk away from the scene uninjured. The biker also managed to leave the scene unharmed.

Engineering teams were subsequently sent to the scene to assess the damage.

The rains that struck the region on the night of 8th June have affected at least 17 municipalities and left a number of people homeless, including at least 22 in Brusque alone.

With the latest incident, Brusque has now suffered two bridge collapses in as many months, with another bridge giving way in the city on the night of 21st April.
