Kansas Police Officers Take Runaway Camel Into Custody Using Lasso After Chasing It All Day In Golf Carts
Police officers in Kansas have arrested a runaway camel spotted on a golf course by using a lasso after they spent the whole day chasing it in golf carts.
The incident took place in Bonner Springs, which is a city in the US state of Kansas, on the outskirts of Kansas City, on the morning of Sunday 5th December.
The Bonner Springs Police Department said in a statement: “If you’ve heard the unbelievable tales, let us tell you that they are true! Officers and Animal Control spent the entire day chasing down a loose camel.
“This morning, officers took to the golf courses in pursuit of the camel (on golf carts no less). Later, it took a leisurely jaunt down K-7 Highway and into some neighborhoods.
“Officers and Animal Control were finally able to catch up to the camel in the 600 block of North Nettleton Avenue where it was safely ‘taken into custody# by lasso! The camel was reunited with its owners and will go back to doing camel things.”
In the footage, the camel can be seen enjoying some of its short-lived freedom, trotting across some grass while being filmed by a witness. It then went on to enjoy a trip down the highway before it was finally apprehended in the 600 block of North Nettleton Avenue, located near the Kansas highway.
It is currently unclear who the owners of the camel are and how it escaped.
