This is the moment a young mum has a lucky escape when her husband grabs her as a massive metal sign falls off the wall of the house, almost crushing her in the process.

The footage was shot in the Chinese prefecture-level city of Suzhou in southern Jiangsu province.

It starts off with the woman and her son and husband in what appears to be a small family office.

A strong wind can be heard outside, and the woman identified only by the surname Ma ushers her son to the glass door where her husband is standing.

She checks briefly to see if there are any problems outside and then allowed her son to pass through the door, and he instantly dashes off down the street.

The woman comes over and starts to go through the door, but there is a screech of metal, and the man puts his arm out to grab her almost certainly saving her life as a massive metal sign then collapses onto the ground where she would have been a second later if he had not held her.

The footage ends with the man holding the woman and staring at the wrecked sign lying on the ground.
