This dashboard camera footage shows the moment a one-year-old boy crawls out of the playground and onto a busy road as the driver stops and rushes over to move him to safety.

The unidentified motorist was driving along Stolichnaya Street near a playground in the town of Kudrovo in the district of Vsevolozhsky in the Russian federal subject of Leningrad Oblast when a one-year-old baby boy crawled out on the road in front of him
on 23rd June.

The baby’s escape from the playground was recorded by the car’s video camera, which stopped a metre away from the boy.

The video shows the moment when the baby boy first crawled to the side of the road, and then the driver and a pedestrian approache the boy as he climbs down from the pavement on to the road.

According to the news website Smotrim’s report, passers-by helped to find the boy’s unidentified mother in the courtyard of a nearby house and returned the boy to her.

After the video of those moments was published on the internet, the investigative committee reportedly decided to launch an investigation into the incident, based on the results of which a procedural decision will be made.

According to the news website Gubdaily, the mother could even be punished with imprisonment for a term of up to one year for ‘the deliberate abandonment of a person who is in a state of danger to life and health and is deprived of the opportunity to take measures for self-preservation.’
