Moment Freight Train Driver Stops To Pick Up Food Delivery Order

This is the moment a Turkish freight train driver stops the train to pick up his order from a food delivery courier waiting by the side of the train tracks.

A person who saw the takeaway courier waiting with a bag in his hand in the district of Pamukova in the Turkish province of Sakarya found the situation interesting and started to record it with a mobile phone on 17th April.

People in Turkey are currently celebrating Ramadan where they are not allowed to eat except at the end of the day in a period known as Iftar hour.

The video shows the freight train going from Adapazari to Eskisehir slowing down so that the driver can get his food to eat at Iftar.

News outlet En Son Haber reported that when the person recording the footage saw that the driver was getting out of the train, he realized that since it was Ramadan and it was almost iftar hour, the man had stopped to take his order to break his fast.

In the video, the courier can be seen waiting with the food in his hand. He runs towards the slowing train, while the driver goes out and rushes towards the courier and goes right back in after taking his food.

The unidentified man in the video, which was widely discussed on social media, received many positive comments from netizens.

A Facebook user named ‘Yasin Sayel’ commented: “I hope God helps them. At that hour, everyone is at their home breaking their fast with their family. Freight train drivers are constantly on the road. There are neither a facility nor a place where they can meet their needs on the way.”

However, some netizens were not as positive as others were. Another Facebook user named ‘Ucler Akkurt’ commented: “He is being unfair to the 85 million people living in Turkey. He acts as if he’s stopping his own father’s train for his own pleasure. He could get some food with him before he started his shift. That freight train weighs hundreds of tons. Freight trains use most of the fuel during take-off. Fuel is wasted in vain so that this gentleman can have a hot meal.”
